  • No. Certification fees cover the cost of assessment, documentation review and ongoing governance. Payment does not influence the outcome.

    Certification is granted solely on verified criteria.

  • The Global Meat Standard is published independently by The Beef Advocate. While initiated by the founder of World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, certification decisions are separate from ranking evaluations.

  • Audits are conducted by an independent assessment team working under the framework of The Global Meat Standard, supported by expert advisors. They review and assess the evidence. Decisions are evidence-based and no single jury member can approve a certification.Neither ranking jurors nor commercial partners are involved.

  • Yes. From a future edition onwards, participation in the Certified Beef Programme will be included as one of the defined evaluation criteria within the ranking methodology. It does not guarantee ranking or position, but reflects leadership in responsible beef sourcing.

  • Certification is based on documentation and transparency, not reputation. Some restaurants choose not to disclose sourcing details or cannot verify certain claims. In such cases, certification is not granted.

  • No. The Global MeatStandard is not a carbon or sustainability label. It focuses on responsibility, transparency and integrity across the beef supply chain.
